Holiday baking is here!

It's that time of year again!

What better reminder that we are now into the winter season than waking up to a fresh layer of sparkly, falling snow? We have unofficially left Fall behind us (in what part of the world does winter not actually start until December 22nd?!), so we've finished off our pumpkin and maple products. Not to fear! We are rolling in the absolute biggest variety of treats that we have ever released at one time!!

Not only are we bringing out some of our classic holiday flavours, we are introducing entirely new treats, and a full line of holiday Take n' Bakes! We are using a lot of exclamation marks today because we are so excited!!

Here are the new seasonal cupcake flavours! Remember, these can be pre-ordered for a dozen of one flavour / $28.

• Gingerbread Vanilla - a ginger spiced cake topped with a vanilla icing


• Chocolate Orange - Our version of a Terry's Chocolate Orange! There are Miss Kate's mum's absolute most favouritest flavour we make.


• Ginger Pear - A lightly gingered cake with chunks of pear mixed in and topped with a lemon ginger icing.


• Cranberry Almond - An almond based caked with dried cranberries mixed in, with a swirl of almond icing and a cranberry on top!


• Cafe Mocha - Our chocolate cake base with a coffee flavoured icing - a lovely pick-me-up!


• Rocky Road - This flavour has become an instant hit... We take our chocolate cake out of the oven just before they're finished baking. Then, we put a Charmallow (Ottawa's local vegan marshmallow!) in the centre before putting them back in to finish baking. We top it off with chocolate icing and a walnut!

We have a brand new flavour for our classic nanaimo bars... This holiday season, we are offering
PEPPERMINT NANAIMO BARS!
Heck yes!!! Order a pan of these for $32!

The return of our Holiday Take N' Bakes are here!!! We have so many different options for you this year. If you are new to our Take N' Bakes, here's the deal: We prepare the following desserts for you, and freeze them to be baked fresh when you are ready to have them! Please note, these are NOT pre-baked treats. Some of them will need to be thawed before baking, and we will provide you with proper instructions when you make your purchase! These are ideal for Christmas day or for the week over the holidays while we are closed.

Each Take N' Bake is $15 and will contain 8 servings; we will have some available for pick-up in store, but if you have a specific flavour in mind that you'd like, be sure to pre-order!

Apple Pie
Cranberry Apple Crumble
Triple Berry Crumble
Cinnamon Rolls
Gingerbread Scones
Cranberry Almond Scones

And, last but certainly not least! Our brand new product that will be available in all kinds of flavours soon.....

WHOOPIE PIES!!!!

These brand new treats are made up of two cakes, held together by ooey-gooey icing. They can be a little messy to eat, but that's half the fun!! We currently sell these desserts in two flavours:
S'Mores (pictured above), and Ginger Orange Blossom.
More flavours will be announced soon, so we will keep you posted!!

One more quick thing to address before I sign off for the day... Our holiday hours!

We are still open from Tuesday - Friday 11am - 4:30pm, and Saturdays 8am - 3pm. We are closed Sundays and Mondays... However, on Monday, December 19th, we are going to open our doors for our regular weekday hours (11am-4:30), because on Saturday, December 24th, we will only be open from 7am until noon. Please see below for our full holiday hours and closures!

Monday December 19th - Friday December 23rd: 11am - 4:30 pm
Saturday, December 24th: 7am - 12pm (noon!)
Sunday, December 25th to Wednesday, January 4th: Closed for renovations!!

That's right - we will be renovating our kitchen space over the holidays to help serve you better! We've listened to everyone's suggestions, and we are going to do our very best to make better use of our lovely bakery.

One last thing... you can now find our treats at a brand new cafe called Pressed, located very close to us on Gladstone!! Be sure to head there for a delicious lunch and follow it up with a yummy treat from your friendly neighbourhood Auntie Loo =)

Hope everyone is staying safe and warm... we really didn't get that much snow, but I know everyone seems to miraculously forget how to drive as soon as the first flake touches the ground. So just be careful =)
